Alfa-Models-Icon-M4 Marco Grassini, a long time collector of 1:43 car models, founded the M4 company in 1990 together with his family (M4 = Marco, Mariella, Michele and Manuela).

M4 produces car models of the 1940's, 1950's and 1960's under the ART MODEL brand, and models of 1960's, 1970's and 1980's under the BEST MODEL brand. M4 is dedicated to create rare models that are difficult to find on the market. Recently M4 has acquired the RIO scale model company, one of the oldest car models companies in the world.

Production of a new model begins with research of documents; than comes design and construction of moulds. Each model requires at least 5 moulds and up to 10 moulds. Every model is made from 60 to 110 detailed parts; coachwork in metal, wheels in aluminium and steel, tyres, glasses, internals in plastic.

M4 has been the first to add photo-engraved details. Painting is made very carefully in a sterile pressurized cabin, with 3 or 4 layers of paint. In June 2007, M4 has launched a new collection of models entirely manufactured in China in limited production of 1000 to 2000 pieces. The models of ART, BEST and RIO are produced in Italy.
