Coming Soon: the 1957 Alfa Romeo 2000 by Starline models in 1:43. This model will be available in red, blue, yellow and silver.
Alfa Romeo 2000; Tipo 102. The Alfa Romeo 2000 was the successor of Alfa's first mass produced car, the Alfa 1900 and was introduced at the Turin Motorshow in November of 1957. The saloon version of the car was designed by Alfa's own Centro Stile, while the Spider was designed by Pininfarina. The car was equipped with a four cylinder DOHC engine with a displacement of 1975 cc, producing 105 HP at 5300 rpm and a five speed gearbox. A total of 2927 saloon cars, 706 coupes and 3445 Spiders were built, before the Alfa 2000, or 102.05, was upgraded to the Alfa 2600 or Tipo 106 in 1962.

Expected in week 23: Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B

Soon available in our shop, the 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B in scale 1:43.

The 2900 A was born in 1935 as a sports car with an engine that directly originated from the P3 race car. In 1937 a road going car, the type B, was developed, based on the 2900 A. The two versions differed mainly by the compression ratio and by the lenght of their chassis. The wheelbase of type A was 2.75 m long while the chassis of the B varried between 2.80 and 3.00 m. Vittorio Jano was responsible for the technical design of the car; Touring Superleggera made almost all of the coaches for the 2900 B.

The 2900 had an 8 cylinder in-line engine with double over-head camshaft. The engine has a bore-stroke of 68x100 mm and displacement of 2905 cc producing some 180 HP. It is made of light alloy and has fixed heads (Testa Fissa). The engine is provided with two superchargers. Each of the two superchargers feeds a group of 4 cylinders and therefore there are two intake pipes for each group of 4 cylinders.  The 2900 had a “trans-axle” type transmission (its gearbox was mounted together with the differential at the rear axle) that offers an optimal weight distribution. The maximum speed was 180 km/h.
Some 20 pieces of the 2900 B version with short wheelbase and only about 10 with the long wheelbase where built. In all, there were little more then 40 of these cars ever constructed, including the racing A models
