Alfa Romeo Tipo 33.3 TT 12

Alfa Romeo Tipo 33.3 TT 12

€12,50
Atlas die cast model of the Alfa Romeo Tipo 33.3 TT 12 that raced the 1000 km at the Nürburgring in 1975. Jochen Mass, partnered with Jody Scheckter in the third Alfa, dashed to an early lead, but the Alpine-Renault soon whistled by. The French entry led until turbo problems set in, which left the Alfa and Mirage teams to fight for the trophy. The Mass/Sheckter car experienced brake problems and fell back to sixth place. Alfa Romeo retired from racing the Tipo 33.3's in late 1974, but former Porsche driver Willi Kauhsen suggested he would start a private racing team with three TT 12's. In return Kauhsen got three cars for free, and Alfa Romeo would provide the team with mechanics, maintainance and repairs. With sponsoring of Campari and Redlefsen the Willi Kauhsen Racing Team (WKRT) won the 1975 championship.
